  • "When the floods happened in Cumbria we were taken totally by surprise and the whole of our downstairs carpets and furniture was ruined. Or so we thought until Tempest Restoration had got down to business!

Great job, lads. You restored my will to live!"

Fire Restoration
From the moment a fire is put out, acid attack starts therefore prompt action is required to minimize damage and prevent consequential loss. The understanding of the damage acidic carbon residue can cause and the emergency steps required to minimise this is critical in order to stop further deterioration of building and contents.
Any delay in removal of carbon fire residue will most certainly result in acid attack and odour impregnation, higher cleaning costs and most probably higher overall losses due to replacement. Carbon residue contains chlorides. When the moisture is added to the residues, they create acids. The time differential can be broken down as follows: Within minutes the acid soot residue can cause discolouration of plastic and metal polished surfaces. Within hours tile grouting, furniture, metals, white goods, worktops, UPVC will discolour and aluminium doors and windows will discolour, tarnish and corrode. Within days permanent staining can be caused to carpets, clothing curtains and upholstery, painted walls will yellow, metals will corrode and pit and painted walls will yellow permanently. Wood furniture will need to be refinished and china, glass and crystal may need to be replaced due to etching and pitting.

Having suffered a very large water damage claim in our house in late December Tempest Restoration were first on the scene to help us through the claim, cleaned up the mess, electrician called to make the electrics safe and drying equipment was installed, the team arrived at 8pm and worked late and just got on with the job, they reassured us and were very sympathetic in this most distressing time.
For the last 12 years we have offered a complete and inclusive service that covers all major restoration work, for the insurance industry. If you have been affected by a fire or flood, Tempest Restoration could be the one company who comes to your rescue
